Property Description
Multiple offers received. Seller requests that all buyers please send your highest and best offer by Friday 6/5. Everyone loves a Mid-Century home, right? How about Mid-Century as in: 1850's?? Welcome to The Hoogewerff-Donaldson Cottage Quarter. Where Baltimore’s elite would spend the summer frolicking around this extremely private and thickly wooded private estate complet with its own babbling creek. Steeped in rich history with German roots and set back a nearly 1/4 mile wooded access drive leading to a completely private parcel. The Hoogewerff's lived in Baltimore, where Samuel was in business as a merchandise broker, and this was intended as a summer house, not a farm. The house on the property came to be called The Cottage by the Hoogewerff's. Lawyer's Hill was being developed in the 1840s and '50s as a summer community for some of Baltimore's elites, facilitated in part by its location on the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. If you are looking to carry the torch of a quaint and historic home with one of a kind craftsmanship and old world flavor, this one needs to be at the top of your tour itinerary.
